Primary Care Professional
Veterans Recovery Resources (VRR) invites applications for Primary Care Professional. Candidates must be a licensed physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP). PA candidates must have successful completion of a PA post-graduate residency program accredited by ARC-PA or by the U.S. Armed Forces; or A Master’s degree from a PA training program certified by ARC-PA or in another health-related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice as a PA in the state of Alabama. NP candidates must have a master’s degree from a program approved by the appropriate state-accrediting agency and accredited by The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license, or otherwise recognized, as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Alabama and current, full, active certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body.
Primary Care Professionals will have full-time responsibility for person-centered treatment planning with personally and culturally diverse clients. Duties providing medication management to clients with SUDs and/or mental health conditions, participation in inter-disciplinary team meetings to promote care coordination, support operations of the crisis intervention team via consultation and service planning and outreach to regional medical centers/clinics to ensure proper working relations.
Veterans Recovery Resources is a 501c3 non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), offering a continuum of clinically proven medical and behavioral services, peer support programming and community integration activities to promote emotional, physical, social and spiritual wellness for Veterans, First Responders, their families, caregivers and survivors. Since the opening of an outpatient clinic in November 2018, our mission has been fulfilled via synergistic efforts of an inter-professional team of physical & behavioral health providers, peer support specialists, veteran peer ambassadors, community partners and stakeholders (for details, see www.vetsrecover.org). Looking ahead, Vets Recover will continue to expand its innovative approach caring for Service Members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
Veterans Recovery Resources is located in Mobile, Alabama, on the Gulf of Mexico. Roughly 500,000 persons reside within a 25-mile radius of downtown Mobile. Our region is ethnically diverse and features a moderate maritime climate, a modest cost of living, and ample recreational opportunities.
