Individual and Group Counseling
Veterans Recovery Resources offers individual, couples and group counseling from trained mental health clinicians who offer a trusting and supportive relationship along with scientifically-supported approaches for promoting recovery from substance abuse, post-traumatic stress, depression and other issues that may be getting in the way of enjoying life on a daily basis, impacting your goals or your family. These services are intended to positively impact all areas of your life, including restoring a sense of purpose and belonging with others over the long-term, based on your immediate needs, values and preferences.
The first step is to clarify your immediate needs, values and preferences. In turn, therapists collaborate with you to develop and implement a plan of care that may help you to heal and grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The frequency of sessions and length of treatment will depend on the nature of each individual’s difficulties, personal goals, and responsiveness to care. Therapy calls for an active effort on your part to successfully accomplish these aims and the goals will likely change as therapy progresses.
We are currently offering several group therapy sessions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is an approach to choosing purposeful and values-guided action to help people act more congruently with their values and live in a way that feels natural and fulfilling; Lifestyle Redesign, the process of acquiring health-promoting habits and routines in your daily life;and Seeking Safety, techniques for addressing trauma and post-traumatic stress. We also offer men and women-specific support groups as well.
