John Kilpatrick

Executive Director

John has a bold vision to change how Veterans can return to normal lives after combat. With 32 years’ military service, including 12 years as an intelligence analyst in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, 20 years as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, and four deployments, he has experienced first-hand the challenges service members and their families can face returning to civilian life. He founded Veterans Recovery Resources to offer a new approach for those needing support. He earned his Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama.

Todd Tournillon

CFO

Todd is a managing member of Richard CPAs and has over 20 years of professional accounting and auditing experience in both large regional firms and small businesses. He spent 18 years at Postlethwaite & Netterville Accounting and Assurance Services Group in Metairie, LA, where he served as a Director from 2007 to 2017.  Todd has deep experience in government and not-for-profit organizations. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Louisiana.

Josh Moore

Veterans Relations & Operations

Josh served eight years as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant and completing three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is currently the Commandant/President of the Marine Corps League Sgt. Foster L Harrington Detachment #1449 and a Volunteer Research Assistant at the University of South Alabama (USA) Trauma Reactions and Interpersonal Loss Lab. Josh earned his B.S. in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from USA and is now pursuing his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Chris Goldschmidt

Brand Strategy & Advertising

Chris has over 30 years of experience helping both profit and non-profit organizations succeed with his strategic approach to marketing, award-winning advertising and brand building. While his work has been featured in AdWeek, Millimeter, and Print Magazine his passion lies in helping clients achieve objectives in new and innovative ways. Chris is president of the Forte Marketing Group in Birmingham, Alabama.

Vaughan Drinkard

Non-Profit Advisor

Vaughan (retired) has led a distinguished career as an attorney and litigator in Alabama. With over 60 years of experience spanning many areas of the law, he has dedicated much of his time in retirement to advising non-profit organizations.

Todd Greer

Organizational Leadership

Todd advises Veterans Recovery Resources on organizational structure, donor relations, and business planning. He currently serves as Dean at the University of Mobile School of Business. With over 15 years’ experience across a range of non-profit organizations, Todd is an advisor to multiple non-profits in organizational development and serves as a Board member at the United Way of South Alabama and the Innovation PortAL in Mobile, Alabama. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Catalyst for the Exchange 202. Todd has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership/Human Resource Development from Regent University.

Jay Watkins

Outside Counsel

Jay is a partner at O’Hara Watkins and is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations in the Mobile and Baldwin communities, including the Sunset Rotary Club in Fairhope and former president of Daphne-Spanish Fort Rotary Club.  He presently serves on the Greater Mobile Multiple Sclerosis Leadership Advisory Council and is the Life to Eagle advisor for Boy Scout Troop 87 in Daphne. At O’Hara Watkins, Jay’s practice focuses on business litigation and bankruptcy.  He frequently counsels local companies of all sizes on labor and employment matters. Jay grew up in a military family and is committed to helping the Veteran community. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law.
